Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 28, 2026

1. Introduction

DGCollect (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information when you use the DGCollect service (the “Service”).

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information — your name, email address, and password when you register directly, or your name and email address when you sign in via a third-party provider such as Google.
  • Collection data — the discs, bags, and related information you add to your account.
  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, and other interactions with the Service, collected automatically via Google Analytics (see Section 5).
  • Log data — IP address, browser type, referring URLs, and timestamps, recorded by our servers.
  • Message content — the body of direct messages sent between users, stored on DGCollect servers for as long as both accounts exist. Messages are accessible to DGCollect administrators for moderation and safety purposes. If a participant's account is deleted, the thread and its content are retained for the other participant with the deleted user's identity removed.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service.
  • Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
  • Respond to your support requests or feedback.
  • Understand how the Service is used so we can make it better.
  • Send transactional emails such as account registration confirmations and new message notifications (we do not send marketing emails).
  • Review message content when reported by users or when investigating potential violations of our Terms of Use.

4. Your Data & Export

You own your data. Registered users can export their full disc collection at any time as a CSV file from their collection page. This export includes all collection items you have added to your account. If you wish to have your account and associated data deleted, please contact us through the contact form. If you would also like your message history deleted, please include that request - message threads are not automatically removed when an account is deleted.

5. Analytics — Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymized information about how visitors use the Service. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect data such as pages viewed, time spent on pages, and general geographic location. This data is sent to and stored by Google.

Google’s use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Third-Party Login (Google Sign-In)

You may choose to create an account or log in using your Google account. When you do, we receive your name and email address from Google via the OAuth 2.0 protocol. We use this information solely to create or authenticate your DGCollect account. We do not receive your Google password.

We store a reference to your Google account ID in order to recognize you on future sign-ins. We do not store your Google password or any other Google account data beyond what is described here. Your use of Google Sign-In is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy. You can disconnect Google Sign-In by contacting us through the About page.

7. Cookies

DGCollect uses cookies to maintain your session when you are logged in. Google Analytics also sets its own cookies for tracking purposes as described above. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, but doing so may prevent certain features of the Service from functioning correctly.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties except:

  • With service providers necessary to operate the Service (e.g., hosting infrastructure).
  • With Google, in the form of anonymized analytics data as described in Section 5.
  • When required by law or to protect the rights and safety of DGCollect or others.

9. Data Retention

We retain your account information and collection data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.

13. Contact
