How It Works

How DGCollect Works

DGCollect is built around three things: a disc catalog you can browse, a collection you can track, and bags you can manage. Here's how each piece fits together.

Getting started

  1. 1

    Create a free account

Sign up with your email or continue with Google. Pick a username - this becomes your public profile URL at dgcollect.com/collection/username. DGCollect is completely free, no subscription required.

  2. 2

    Browse the disc catalog

Search hundreds of discs from major manufacturers and filter by disc type - drivers, midranges, and putters. Each disc shows its flight numbers (speed, glide, turn, fade). Don't see a disc, manufacturer, or plastic type? Any user can submit one for review.

  3. 3

    Add discs to your collection

From any disc's page, click +Collection and record the details that matter to you.

  4. 4

    Build your bags

Create as many named bags as you need - one for your home course, one for travel, one for a specific playstyle. Add any disc from your collection to a bag.

  5. 5

Analyse your bag with the Bag Chart

The Bag Chart plots every disc in your bag on a stability chart - speed on the vertical axis, stability (turn + fade) on the horizontal axis. Overstable discs sit to the right, understable discs to the left. Use it to spot gaps in your bag coverage at a glance: a cluster of dots in one corner means your bag may be missing certain flight shapes. Each bag has its own Bag Chart with a public URL you can share, or set a bag to private to keep it to yourself.

What you can track per disc

Each entry in your collection can store the following details:

Plastic - Choose from manufacturer-specific blends. Some plastics change a disc's flight numbers - DGCollect tracks that too. If a plastic isn't listed yet, you can add it.
Condition - Rate the disc from pristine to well-loved using a standard scale.
Weight & year - Record the disc weight in grams and the year it was made.
Stamp - Note the stamp name or run for limited editions and special releases.
Purchase date & price - Useful for tracking what you've spent over time.
Thrown / inked - Quick flags to note whether the disc has been thrown or has ink on it.
Notes - Free-text field for anything else worth remembering.
Photos - Up to three custom images per disc.

Other features

Search & filter

Your collection and bag both have a search box and filters for manufacturer and disc type, so you can find any disc quickly.

Dashboard & stats

Your dashboard shows a breakdown of your collection by manufacturer with a pie chart, plus a quick summary of how many discs you own and how many are in your bags.

Public profiles & privacy

Your collection and each bag have a public URL you can share. Your collection and bags can each be switched to private from your settings at any time.

CSV export

Export your full collection or any individual bag as a CSV file whenever you want. Your data is yours to take anywhere.

Submitting missing discs

If a disc isn't in the catalog yet, any user can submit it. The disc is available to add to your collection right away - it just shows as unverified until an admin approves it and it becomes part of the official catalog.

Submit manufacturers & plastics

Missing a manufacturer or plastic type? Submit it for review. Once approved, it becomes available for everyone to use. Unapproved submissions are still usable by you right away.

Suggest edits

Spot incorrect data on a disc? Suggest corrections to the name, type, or flight numbers. Your suggestion is sent to an admin for review and applied if approved.
